Previous comments from co-workers in various positions: Business Analysis to Product Managment
Graham is a results-driven team leader with a track record spanning multiple high-tech industries. He maintains a strong focus on operational Marketing Technology and Business Intelligence. As usual, Graham manages to juggle dozens of moving parts into on-time deliveries. Recently, with our USM Anywhere project launch, we had the extra dimension of integration with a brand-new product, Service Layer integration, big changes to our Documentation Center, and custom SFDC development. And! This is by far the best collaboration with the Engineering Team I've seen at AlienVault. Graham has a lot to be proud of.
Graham's PM skills are top-notch. This is true especially because he takes responsibility on each and every task/deliverable and ensure they get from start to finish on-time as promised. Graham is meticulous about thinking through all aspects of the project: requirements, planning design, development and launch. He has delivered a multitude of projects that have pushed the envelope forward for AlienVault.com Graham sets a great example for coordination and delivery of projects such as Product Launches (USM & USM for AWS). As a result of his performance, he has been recognized as top contributor at the end of Q1. When Graham first came aboard at AlienVault, his knowledge of JIRA was limited to that of a casual user. Being task with encouraging the entire organization to broaden the use of JIRA, Graham has served as an administrator, advocate and trainer. He assisted the business group to use JIRA as the main task management tool A great initiative by Graham is his monthly updates to the broader organization highlighting everything he and his team have accomplished. This serves as a great reminder to everyone about the amount of work his dev team has accomplished on a monthly basis. Graham constantly looks for new ideas out on the world wide web. He often brings recommendations and suggestions to the table that shows he is always thinking about and looking to the future. This is notable by his A/B testing ideas implemented across the site. Not all ideas pan out with notable results, but the important thing is that he keeps trying to find areas for improvement He is also challenged with working with colleagues that are not co-located. He takes the time and makes the effort to build relationships with these colleagues over other channels (phone, online messaging, GTM, etc) The #1 responsibility of a Product Manager is to build consensus. We take an idea (either our own or from a stakeholder) and socialize it, build on it, gain feedback, improve it and ultimately deliver it. Graham does this all extremely well. And this speaks to his collaborative nature and his abilty to foster great working relationships with his colleagues. Graham is a great colleague and team-player. He is a great addition to any team, and we are fortunate to have him.
I have had the pleasure of working with Graham for almost 7 years. In that time I've had the opportunity to get to know his engaging and enthusiastic personality while seeing him work as a business analyst as well as a product management role. In his analyst role, Graham also interfaced quite a bit with our customers. I was always amazed at how easily he could engage our customers (our agents) and very quickly establish a rapport with them while offering them the technical assistance they were seeking. At our yearly convention, in our tech booth, his detailed knowledge of our toolset was often sought out. Customers would frequently come by the booth specifically asking for him by name. Whether he was speaking to a crowd of 100 or speaking to a customer one-on-one, he would very soon have the customer(s) feeling quite comfortable as he introduced a new product or concept or assisted them with a specific technical issue. As a product manager, his disarming personality has also made working with him a pleasure as he pushes his projects towards milestones. His PM role requires not only interfacing with managers, java developers, database developers as well as our technology partners and Graham has the wonderful ability to bring all project participants together while directing us towards our goal. Graham would be an asset to any organization.
Graham Cohen is a talented Product Manager who brings both meticulous attention to detail, as well as a highly strategic and creative vision to his projects. I have worked on the same team with Graham for close to 5 years, and it is always my pleasure to work with him. As a presenter, he is enthusiastic and fun. As a technical expert, he is always interested in knowing more and digging deeper. As a leader, he is for the good of the project. I highly recommend Graham!
